The leather on this sheath is 6/7 oz. Full-grained leather that is heavy duty and hand crafted in Oregon, USA. The leather is vegetable tanned and will not corrode metal. It has a hand oiled finish for durability and the seams are locked stitched with heavy weight Nylon thread. The sheath protects the Axe head and fits snugly and securely with three snaps. The belt loop fits belts with widths up to 1 ¾ inches.

Five Stars good leather but could be a little thicker, the snaps are plastic… the axe that fits in the sheath is very good quality… the sheath, not so good and will not last as it should. i have many of CRKT’s products and the leather that comes with them is of very good quality. this is not very good for being branded with the CRKT name. i expected a high quality leather sheath… IT IS NOT.
Perfect after a minor modification. Actually a really good axe sheath for the Chogan, but its way too much sheath. I found that I can’t carry my Chogan with this on it in my axe ring or in the axe sleeve of my pack due to the extra leather and snaps. I ended up tapping the rivets out at the blade guard and only use the blade guard portion now. Fits snug still and I’m not worried about losing it. The item I received had black brass and steel snaps and the leather was nice and thick I see by many of the previous reviews that this is a not-so-loved product. Well, CRKT must have been listening.
