Goes against the norm of folding knives. This Terry Lee Renner-designed futuristic looking everyday carry knife defies convention. The titanium nitride finished two-tone handle is uniquely angular yet surprisingly comfortable to hold. Meanwhile an IKBS ball bearing pivot system makes it easy to deploy the tanto tip blade anywhere. Mars, for instance.

Knifemaker Terry Lee Renner of Palmetto, Florida, has always been intrigued by sharp lines. He took a lot of inspiration from his deep-relief wood carving, and incorporated it into the design of the Deviation. Renner wanted to create a knife that would inspire the same intrigue he feels for those sharp powerful lines, in every person that touches the handle, and he did just that with this one of a kind knife.

With looks that seem more at home on a UFO than a belt loop, this is one that will open eyes and make jaws drop when they see this unique knife for the very first time. The IKBS ball bearing pivot system deploys the blade smoothly and quickly. And once open, a two–toned tanto blade with mirror polish on the grind signals to any, and all, life forms that you’re ready to get to work.

When you want a stylish knife that’s still beefy enough to use anywhere, reach for the Deviation.

Cool knife with more bulk and weight than I expected Pros: It is cool – the angles created by the blade and the frame are different than I’ve ever seen and I find them impressive. Even with the blade closed, the angles catch the eye. The tanto blade is polished to a mirror shine on the grind down to the cutting edge and on the swedge at the spine. The large flipper tab makes a cool type of finger guard when open but does not stick out of the back too far when closed. The very deep carry pocket clip allows the knife to virtually disappear into…

Decent knife. It is a heavy knife, which is what my son wanted and likes. The photo of the blade appears as a dual edged Tonto style blade. It is NOT! The top side is a beautifully polished rounded edge not for cutting. I suppose if one wanted to make it’s cutting surface you could with a grinder and some work? So unless the one I bought is a mistake, and slipped passed QC , it is a standard- quasi- Tonto blade design. As with all assisted opening knives, the action gets better over time, but this knife is…

A GREAT Knife! This is a great knife and it’s the second one I’ve ordered. I gave the first one to my girlfriend and she loves it. The second one is a birthday present for the daughter of a friend and I’m sure she’ll love it too. VERY nice looking and somewhat feminine looking knife, Also extremely sharp, right out of the box! The KBS bearings are as smooth as silk and while this knife does not have any kind of assist (spring), it’s not really needed. My only concern is that it’s a bit tough on the thumb to…
