Attention Jobs: Don’t back it into a corner. The Pangolin is a stout, fixed blade tactical knife that’s the perfect size for a pack, or a purse. But when there’s big work to be done, it comes out fighting.

Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical in Chattanooga, Tennessee, designed the Pangolin to be his personal carry knife—one that could be quickly accessible but still do some serious work. He succeeded in doing both with his latest offering.

The Pangolin features a modified drop point blade with black powder corrosion resistant finish that can hold its own on tasks, both in the field on a mission, or at home. You may wonder how such a short, robust knife can get so much work done. Then you grab hold of the handle, feel its ergonomic design and realize you can get some serious leverage with this blade.

But this knife isn’t just snarl and grit. It has an attractive side too. Look closer at the handle texture. You’ll see it has scales that are reminiscent of the Pangolin—a small but naturally gifted animal from which it derives its name.

The Pangolin is a short, lean knife that stays out of the way until you really need it. And then…it’s a monster.

Fantastic! Awesome knife. At first I balked at a fixed blade knife with a “short” blade compared to my folders, but this knife feels a lot bigger than it really is. It screams “workhorse.” Well balanced and the grip is great with good hand protection from the blade. Relatively sharp out of the box, but a few swipes through my sharpener made it dangerously sharp! The holster is great and I just love the tek-lok style clip that comes with the holster. The clip is adjustable to fit up to…

Just buy it. Blown away by this EDC knife. It fits the hand wonderfully, arrived super sharp, and feels stout and sure. I love the blade coating. And the carry system is terrific – the DOTS system allows for multiple carry positions. I know a lot of people carry tactically on their belt straight up and down, but I prefer to carry it cross body, with the direction of my belt. I feel it is easier concealed this way. Regardless, the quality of this knife and carry system can’t be found at this price -…

Finally, the perfect fixed-blade knife! I really like this knife. I’ve been looking for a little fixed-blade about this size for a while, but it seems they are really cheap or really expensive. The Tek-lok works great–I carry it horizontally cross-draw on my belt. I tried vertical, but the sharp handle-end really dug into my side. On a recent backpacking trip I mounted it on the tightening strap on the outside of my pack’s waist pad (not the main strap but the one that adjusts the pad). Worked great, although in the sandy…
