You need to buy additional fittings I bought this as a replacement for a water filter on an ice maker (a stand alone unit, not part of a refrigerator). After trying and failing to install using the enclosed directions, I took the filter to a plumbing supply store, where I was advised to purchase three items in order to properly install: a plastic compression sleeve, a brass insert, and a compression nut (all 1/4 inch). Item incomplete ! One of the other reviewers was correct⦠There are no connection fittings in the package. And like he said also the seller had to have known that. Not easy to install depending on your fridge I have a whirlpool side by side. My incoming line is a copper flex pipe which fit perfectly on the inflow part of this filter. However, the fridge has a poly tubing. When I connected it to the filter, water starting shooting out everywhere. Yes I removed the green “Collet” and pushed the tube all the way in but it still leaked massively. There were no compression fittings enclosed despite what is described in the title. I took all of the parts and showed it to a guy at my local plumbing…
