beautifully crafted This compass is good enough for a draughts person, but affordable enough for anyone. I use it to create artwork, and it is sturdy, stays where set, and can make tiny, to quite large, circles and arcs.

Fine shop compass This is not a chrome plated drafting tool but works quite well as a wood shop tool. I was looking for a compass to scribe a circle on wood turning blanks. Some are pretty rough and I need a line to follow when cutting the half log on the band saw. This works fine and does the job for me.

This thing is big I thought 12″ meant that was the size of the circle it could draw, or something like that. Nope, this thing is 12″ from handle to point. It’s big. So keep that in mind. While I still use it to scribe small circles, it’s a little awkward.I’m a woodturner, and I use this to draw a circle on a hunk of wood before cutting it out on my bandsaw. It works for that purpose, because the sharp point sticks in the wood just far enough to hold itself in position while I spin it around…
