Not enough light for an ‘area light’ This product is not designed with enough LED’s to produce suitable area lighting. Initially the design is good in that they used a frosted lens to diffuse the light such that it doesn’t create a hotspot of light. That is a good concept for an area light. But there just isn’t enough light coming from it to provide adequate area lighting, even in a small room. I don’t see many actual LED’s behind the lens. Relatively rugged, and a good area light source. I have used Energizer flashlights in the past and some have been disappointments. This flashlight appears to be part of a new series and they must have gotten new designers because this is a very good general-use flashlight.Mode 1 is the directional flashlight. It throws out a broad circle of light and the colour of the light is ‘white’ and not greenish or yellowish. Great LED Flashlight — Batteries Last a Long Time This review is for the LED 2 in 1 handheld flashlight. These are very handy flashlights. With two modes of dimmable operation, these are useful for many lighting tasks. There is a flashlight mode from the end or a flood light or ‘drop-light’ mode from the large side panel that throws nice diffuse light for task lighting without harsh shadows.
