Excellent product I would recommend I’m pretty conservative with my money and don’t buy poorly constructed equipment, but research and shop hard to find the best my money will give me. I’m not into the cool factor, but if I can get something that is well made for the money, a great product, and I can say cool then it’s a winner. Premium Firesteel. This is the Cadillac of firesteels. There is no imperfection in any way with this product. The price is what you pay for this kind of high quality materials and detail in a firesteel of this caliber. Love the fact that you can carry a small amount of fire tinder ( cotton ball with Vaseline ) in the handle. I have two now. This fire rod will throw a shower of sparks that are more than enough to start a fire by anybody experienced in using the ferrocerium rod method of fire starting.
Excellent little piece of kit I am very pleased with this item. The quality of the construction is excellent and the details built into it are very smart. There are two main features that stand out. The first is that the Firerod has a small watertight capsule that will hold enough tinder to get a fire going. I have a small piece of fatwood wrapped in a length of jute twine.
