Mike Vande Ven Jr. says:

Works ok, but I find wax does a better job I have lit a number of fires with these, inside and out. They work ok, with some downsides. They are very slow to burn, so it takes a long time to get your fire started. And they put off a lot of black smoke. I know this is due to the resin, but it’s a put off.On the other hand, I have some wax cup starters. Those things get the fire going quick and strong with no black smoke.
