Looks great! This is one sturdy, well put together piece of equipment! Although I haven’t had a chance to put it to practical use yet, I can say this is built like a little tank. Rugged! I look forward to many years of use from this little guy!
The edge on both is good but FiveJoy sharpens one side more than the other Bought this to replace my Cold Steel special forces tool. My Cold Steel handle broke, they sell replacements and I can see why. The FiveJoy tool has a higher quality finish, my Cold Steel came with flaking paint. The edge on both is good but FiveJoy sharpens one side more than the other. Doesn’t bother me, but if it does I can fix it easily enough. My Cold Steel had a warped edge…can’t fix that. Cold Steel uses medium carbon steel, FiveJoy uses high carbon steel.
Good shovel, GREAT camp axe! I’ve barely used this as a shovel, but I did experiment with digging through my frozen garden a bit. It seemed to work about as well as my GI tri-fold shovel (the genuine article, not a cheap knockoff), But where this thing really shines is as a hatchet.
