The safety barrel lock will keep the blade closed when in a pocket, or as a secondary lock when opened.
Closing the knife process: After the plunge lock is released, simply press it down against a firm surface and make sure the blade locked securely in its correct place when closing.

*Updated Review* the first one of these that I got I hit the ground running with and didn’t have the best results, on round two the day the knife arrived I took the handle plates off and tightened all of the screws top to bottom, replaced the plates and snugged them down as well and I’m having a considerably better experience this time around. Very nice knife. Hubby needed / wanted a new knife that he could use with ease at work and else where when needed. Knife is made very well. The blade came super sharpe and he has not had to resharpen it thus far. It came with a belt type case to keep the knife in. He keeps it with all most every day. Great buy if your looks for a useful pocket knife.
Great knife for a great price! I love this knife it was ready to use straight out of the box. I fold easily with a very secure locking release feature. The materials and craftsmanship were excellent. The 440c stainless steel blade is sharp out of the box but can be sharpened like a razor. The rubber on the blaze orange handle mad it easy to grip and its bright colors make it hard to lose when you set it down during field use.
