Nice unit but mine has an issue Mine was intermittently powering off while I was in Map Setup functions. Sometimes the unit will power down while in the Nav options. So I went to Garmin’s web site and did the latest update as of 12/8/2016. I was happy to say that they mentioned a “fix” for this problem. I did the update and the problem remained. So I returned the unit for a touch-screen unit.

Absolutely does not work as advertised. If you need nmea0183 run away from this unit. I have been a garmin user since ~1999 time frame. I have spent literally thousands of dollars on garmin products over the years. I have to say the last several things I have bought have been a bit disappointing. Typical of the last sever items it doesn’t appear that the software is complete on the 276CX. Like many people who have purchased this I bought it to replace my old 276c, but this unit doesn’t have near the capability of the old 276c the NMEA0183 in/out doesn’t work, it won’t read depth…

Large brilliant screen that lacks touch screen and geocaching features. This GPS is larger then I expected but very high resolution display. Being a user of Garmin Oregon 650, the original GPSMap 276 and Nuvi models. I immediately put OSM street maps on here and the large screen really makes these maps pop. I also like the fact that you can put waypoints into categories, I don’t know if this is the first time I came across this in any Garmin GPS, and then you can assign what categories show on the map or are hidden.
