Bright light, great price. Love the handle. I already own a pricier battery-powered GE lantern I bought at Costco a few years ago. We have Santa Ana winds and tropical storms, which are getting worse every year, and I use that lantern for home power outages. I’ve loaned out my Costco lantern to neighbors on both sides of my house when winds caused trees to bring down power lines (fires on both sides of my fence!). They were so appreciative of the loan.I wanted more lanterns so everyone in my house had a personal light…

So far so good I just got this thing, but so far it’s great! It has bright, even light distribution and the color temperature is a more neutral color than a coleman led lantern I have (thr coleman lantern’s lighting is a stark blue). The coleman lantern I have has a battery pack where you insert batteries and then insert the battery pack into the lantern– I have dropped that lantern a few times and now the battery pack will just fall out from the bottom. I am so pissed off that I fell for GE … I am so pissed off that I fell for GE again. First I bought their closet lights with remote, that failed after one month. So I bought this lantern and the batteries, and it is impossible to get the bottom back on once you have put the batteries in. Never again, GE, never again.
