GE Warranty Information
For a period of 30 days after the date of original purchase, GE will replace (at no charge) and part of the water filter cartridge that fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship. The warranty extends to the original purchaser and any succeeding owner for products purchased for home use within the United States. The warranty does not include service trips to your home for product tutorials; improper installation; failure of the product if it is misused; replacement of the cartridge because of water pressure that is outside the specified operating range; damage to the product caused by accident, fire, or flood; and incidental or consequential damage caused by possible defects with the appliance.

Legitimate GE Refrigerator Water Filter? The GE water filter I ordered/received for my GE refrigerator was not the one pictured and although it came in a GE box the printing on the cartridge was blurry and looked like a counterfeit product. I could not get the filter to lock into position in the refrigerator or work so I called a Sears repairman and he could not get the new cylinder to fit properly or have the water release through the door spicket like it should and he noticed the smuggy and illegible print on the cylinder, although…
Also just bought one that had foil removed and black … Also just bought one that had foil removed and black around rim so clearly used. Returning it and ordering a new one…again
No foil seal! Could have been tampered with! This water filter did not have the proper silver foil seal over the input port, like it should from GE. It could easily have been tampered with or previously been used in this condition. I certainly wouldn’t want my children drinking water from a filter that could have been tampered with! I would highly advise consumers to keep a close eye out for the foil seal!!!
