Easy to maintain the edge and very effective I have owned several of these knives.
this is a very well constructed knife and will give many years of excellent service. if taken care of I, had this gerber gator in 1995, but I got it in 1993, and is a very well built knife , I, used it to cut shrink wrap with ,which in time dulled the blade ,so I, had it re- sharpened,.would ,I ,buy it again , most definitely, this is a very well constructed knife and will give many years of excellent service .if taken care of .,not neglectedbut its made in the u.s.a, at Portland Oregon,.enough said ,.don’t over look this knife for the price,.????? and it comes with a, sheath for youre ,belt…
Best pocketknife…..ever! Knife is great; it arrived sharp and with a case. The knife itself is made in Portland but the case is made in China. I had a couple of these same knives years ago and the shape of the knife was always the same with minor changes made in the actual labeling on the blade itself. I believe a previous version of this same knife had a hardness rating stamped on the blade of “650.” This latest version is not stamped on the blade but the package indicates it’s a 440 hardness IIRC.
