Very sharp, excellent quality steel, good grip. The quality is definitely there on this blade. I got it as a Christmas gift for hunting but had already finished hunting for the year by Christmas time. The steel is very good quality. Comes with a high quality leather sheath that the knife goes in and out of very easily; make sure you use the button strap to secure it when carrying it on your belt. The gut hook and blade come reasonably sharp from the factory; certainly more than sharp enough to use as a hunting knife to skin and prepare…
Yeah..as good as everybody is saying it is…. Seriously NICE….It just arrives..you catch yourself holding your breath….and then you pull it out of the sheath and wrap your fingers around that sculptured handle… (Mama..)…what a feel to the heft, balance, ergonomics, etc. Impressive craftsmanship..really impressive….. I challenge ANY KNIFE to beat the feel of this thing… Regarding the sheath..lighten up fellas…it’s a quality sheath, just not the BEST sheath… This IS the best 4″ blade out there…
American made elk skinner. I Love this knife, made in the USA! ð±ð·I’ve gutted, skinned and quartered out three elk with it so far, holds a good edge but still easy to sharpen in the field. I Bought this as a knife I could hand down to my son just like my first Gerber my dad gave me. Just a few weeks ago on my elk hunt in wyoming I dropped my knife in a snow drift (see picture, lol i was that excited I wanted to capture the moment) while scouting for elk for the other hunters in our group.
