Great knife set. Not crazy about the sheath which later required some repair. This is a great combo for both small and large game hunting. The blade, as always with Gerber, are razor sharp out of the box. The sheath, as with most Gerber products are somewhat disappointing. Thin belt strap and stitched on flat so that I know with a good bit of use it will end up splitting off like other sheaths I’ve had of theirs have done. I don’t know why they do not leave some slack in the belt loop on the sheath for the belt to go through, or in lieu of that, use a heavier nylon…
Excellent set! Read this review about the small blade not locking into sheath. , This is an excellent set of blades for the money. The handles are solid and have a very grippy rubber surface. The blades are laser sharp and seem to hold an edge well. Some reviewers have mentioned the smaller knife not locking into the forward sheath. This isn’t the case, though at first, I found the same issue. However, if you apply a firm amount of pressure down on the smaller knife, it will seat and lock into the sheath. This is a great set for the money.
Hunting Knife Used this knife to field dress 2 deer last year. Worked well when making cuts into the deer and I especially liked the hook on the back of the bigger knife. Made it very easy to open the skin and dress the animal.The holder also comes with a sharpener on the bottom in case you need to sharpen it in the field. Overall I think this is a pretty good tool to have while out hunting.
