These are stretchy. If they don’t fit snugly or you have heavy stuff in your pocket, you’ll need a belt! This is the second pair I’ve purchased. I love these shorts and I might get another pair in a different color so nobody notices I wear the same thing all summer long…. The only problem is if you carry heavy stuff in your pockets or the shorts don’t fit snugly, you’ll need a belt. cool Price changes a lot. And the die they use is easily washed out. That said, these are my favorite shorts. And I have nice shorts. That’s because they stay cool during hot summer hikes. And that’s because they’re all polyester. They’re also very stretchy. A couple times a year, they drop to fif teen. And that’s when I buy.
