Buyer beware… This “compass” is a decoration, not a functional piece. We planned on giving it as a gift, but it fell apart the moment it was taken out of the package. The lid is very hard to open and the needle is not steady enough to even determine a rough cardinal direction. We are returning this one for something more usable.
Amazing gift! We got this for our friend for Christmas. He lives on a boat and is a captain for a local “landshark” (boat that can travel on land and ocean). The compass is beautiful, very cool looking. Looks a little rustic, but is great quality. The case it came in is pretty awesome as well. Overall, it’s a cool gift, meant for the sailor in everyone! I highly recommend this item. On a side note- it totally works too. It’s not just for looks.
Not as pictured Case and compass interior does not match description/image on site. Minor damage to compass body (scuffs and scratches) although very well packaged.In fairness, it’s of reasonably decent quality for a fairly cheap item, and I’d probably be happy enough with it if the photo and description had been accurate. But it’s not what I thought I was ordering, and the packaged arrived three days late to boot.
