Classic detailing with a rustic flair.A lovely pattern with pastoral flavor, Avalon flatware from Gourmet Settings has an unusual design with classic functionality. Taking its inspiration from the legend of Avalon, a mystical island associated with Arthurian legend, the pattern features sculpted handles with a textured surface. The design transitions to an intricate flourish pattern at the tip. While Avalon handles have a black finish that looks antiqued, the working ends are brightly polished for handsome contrast. Elongated oval bowls and narrow triple tines complete the design.

With 20 pieces in all, this Avalon set includes four place settings, each with a salad fork, a dinner fork, a knife, a soupspoon, and a teaspoon. Crafted from heat-forged 18/10 stainless steel, the design is pleasant in the hand and resistant to corrosion. As with other Gourmet Settings patterns, Avalon is safe in the dishwasher for convenience and carries a 50-year warranty. –Emily Bedard

Love it This is great flatware. Very heavy build, I have not bent a spoon on hard ice cream yet like so many other sets have. I love the finish on the handles. The only thing to note is it is very large. The teaspoons are almost as large as some smaller sets tablespoons. I have also seen a couple rusty looking spots on the table knives if left in a wet dishwasher, seems to wipe off to an unnoticeable level. I love the finish on the handles.

making the soup spoons unnecessary.. Other reviewers have done a spectacular job at thoroughly describing this set of flatware so I’ll just say it’s unique, durable (thick and slightly heavy) and aesthetically pleasing. One minor complaint, the teaspoons are much larger than what I’ve come to expect as standard sized, making the soup spoons unnecessary …or vice versa.

One of my best purchases EVER Bought this in 2007, and have used it every single day since I got them. I grew up in a home where we only used our nice stuff on very special occasions. I wanted to my everyday items to be “nice”, and durable. I was so pleased when I got these, they looked better than the picture, and I loved the weight in my hands. IMO the design fits both modern, traditional or rustic tastes.I loved them so much I bought a second set as a spare. HOWEVER, 8 years later it is still…
