In the newest installment of the hit Earth One original graphic novel line, creators Gabriel Hardman and Corinna Bechko (Invisible Republic, Star Wars: Legacy) reimagine Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps in this modern sci-fi epic!

Hal Jordan yearns for the thrill of discovery, but the days when astronaut and adventure were synonymous are long gone. His gig prospecting asteroids for Ferris Galactic is less than fulfilling–but at least he’s not on Earth, where technology and culture have stagnated.

When Jordan finds a powerful ring, he also finds a destiny to live up to. There are worlds beyond his own, unlike anything he ever imagined. But revelation comes with a price: the Green Lantern Corps has fallen, wiped out by ruthless killing machines known as Manhunters. The odds against reinstating the Corps are nearly impossible…but doing the impossible is exactly what Hal Jordan was trained to do!

a nice version of GL The Earth One series is strong. Superman was very well done and the Batman was incredible. Different is Good I like the Earth One series, and GL here is probably my favorite so far. They take the idea of the Green Lantern Corps, and Hal Jordan, and they infuse it with something new. Getting into it would mean spoilers, but I like the backstory for the Corps and Hal Jordan’s role. You see old characters in interesting ways, and I hope we get a sequel that’s on par.

About the book This is a review for the hardcover edition.About the build of this book, be warned that this is NOT oversized, unlike most DC hardcovers. This is my first Earth One hardcover, so I can’t compare it to the others and this may be the standard for the series. In addition, the book is glued and not string bound, which makes it a bit stiff and leads to some gutter loss. However, none of this detracted from my ability to read or enjoy the story. If you’ve never read an Earth…
