Description
Use one of our premium leather collars to protect your handle. The majority of handle damage often starts at the neck, either from miss-swings or normal wear and tear. Neck collars help protect the neck, and significantly increase handle longevity and durability. They are comfortable to use, easy to tie on, and give your axe a genuinely authentic look and feel. The included leather lace ensures that the collar will stay tightly fitted to the handle.

Features
+ Made in the USA from quality, top-grain, vegetable-tanned, saddle leather
+ Leather has been treated and infused with oils and waxes for moisture protection.
+ Burn-stamped with the Helko Werk crown logo
+ Tough, thick, and durable
+ Not indestructible. Best suited for light/medium work. Heavy Duty splitting will wear down the leather over time.

Excellent quality collar and lace I purchased two of these for each of my hatchets: one in the Jeep and one in my pack. The collar leather is very high quality, quite thick, yet subtle enough for easy installation. The laces were also very high quality, modestly thick, and extremely subtle. I wrapped the collar around the axe handles, laced them up with modest tension, then let them sit for a day to “break in”. The next day I tightened the lacing a bit more then let them sit for another day. Did the same for a third day,…

Lace is junk. Can’t pull lace snug – keeps breaking. Not a bad product (looks good albeit over priced) but they need to rethink the lace. I’ll have to come up with a fix on my own- looks like a flat lace would wok better. Can’t really recommend it with the current lace.Update 5/12/17. Went to Michael’s craft store and bought a flat leather lace (quality leather product around 7 bucks) and it works GREAT! Looks good, too, if that matters. Don’t really understand why Helko doesn’t use a flat lace -…

Strong leather, breakable lace. The guard itself is great. The leather seems durable, well made. The leather lace broke during a first attempt at tying the guard onto my Hult Bruks hatchet. In all fairness, I was trying to tie it on tightly. Eventually, while pulling on one side, the lace broke. That’s okay, though. I’ll use the halves for something else.Furthermore, the leather lace was bulky and cumbersome to work with. It’s easier and probably stronger to use 550 paracord. On Amazon, you can pick…
