I did research into possible remedies and found this top of the line Honeywell Air Cooler to be the perfect solution. It does not have an AC compressor … I live in southern California and we don’t have that much humidity, especially when those hot, dry Santa Ana winds blow. and am very happy with it Bought this 3 weeks ago, and am very happy with it. The build is very solid, this is not a piece of junk.It is easy to use: Plug in the AC cord, put it near an open window or door, turn the cool dial to on, the speed from 1-3, (1 works fine for me), and swing to on or off, (on means the cooled air is blown around, not just straight ahead.).Water is poured in through a door on the top. Cools most of my house very well I am really impressed with my Honeywell Evaporative Cooler. As you can see in the picture, it is about 13 degrees cooler in my house compared to the outside temperature. I have several Evaporative coolers and this one is one of my favorites.PROS:1.
