Store holiday dinnerware safely in this polyester canvas storage chest from Household Essentials. This chest is designed to hold 12 dessert plates and/or bowls with a maximum diameter of 8 inches each. It is red in color with green trim and the front panel has a clear see-through window to allow the contents to be seen. Felt protectors are provided that slide in between the plates for up to a set of 12. Two handles on the side are attached by rivets and can support weight up to 25lbs. Perfect fits for my Christmas dishes My Christmas dishes were purchased at Target several years ago. They are quite sturdy and would make for great every day dishes except for the Christmas pattern on the rims of the larger plates and the very festive “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry” text along the rims of the dessert plates. They’re okay. I bought two different sizes to store my Christmas plates. The salad plate storage was a little snug (red), and the dinner plate storage was a little wider (large white.) These are reminiscent of cheap Walmart storage bins, but serves the purpose I was looking for. I do like that they come with protective felt dividers, but I recommend adding foam protection (which I purchased separately) to help with preventive measures of chipping. Measure Carefully. Don’t Go Just By the Description Well, I am both pleasantly surprised and completely disappointed. Firstly! What a great storage item! I received this to pack away my holiday charger plates and I am very impressed with how sturdy it is.
