GoBites took over two years to develop, but we think they were worth the wait. We wanted to create eating tools that many different types of people can use in many different situations, and we wanted to make them simple, extremely durable, and a joy to use. We’re confident that we’ve achieved all of that and more with GoBites.

Trio is our premium, full-featured offering, with an extended-length spoon, fork, and knife (yes, that actually cuts). The whole set comes in a beautiful case that keeps everything organized, clean, and at the ready. We spent months designing the utensil positioning to create a case size that seems impossibly thin. Small, considered touches like a metal bottle opener in the knife and a custom, wedge/pointed toothpick round out the ultimate on-the-go eating set.

The Trio is made from a special BPA-free nylon material that is amazingly strong – so strong we back it with a lifetime warranty.

We designed the Trio to tackle just about any meal (well okay, not steak & lobster). With a full-size fork, spoon, and knife, you’ll be able to eat everything from soup to spaghetti to chicken.

The Trio’s case presents all the utensils at once, so you can easily grab what you need without having to take everything else out of the case.

A knife that cuts chicken

The Trio’s knife may be plastic, but the serrated edge will still cut through tough foods, including chicken, raw veggies, and hard cheeses.

Toast the good life

We integrated a metal bottle opener into the Trio’s knife handle, so you’ll be equipped around celebratory beverages.

Avoid the “spinach smile”

To round out the set, we included a toothpick with one pointy end and one wedge-shaped end to help keep your smile food-free.

Stay slim!

We spent months figuring out an orientation of the fork, spoon, and knife that would yield an exceptionally slim case. By slightly offsetting the fork and spoon, we’ve done just that – and as a bonus, the fork and spoon will fit on either side, so it’s easy to pack up after a meal.

Describe your product in 3 words.

Fully-featured, organized, civilized.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?

GoBites took over two years to develop, but we think they were worth the wait. We wanted to create eating tools that many different types of people can use in many different situations, and we wanted to make them simple, extremely durable, and a joy to use. We’re confident that we’ve achieved all of that and more with GoBites.

What makes your product special?

So far all three GoBites have won the prestigious Red Dot, IDEA, and Spark awards for excellence in design. Most people aren’t familiar with these awards, but they’re the kind of thing that designers that wear all black and have fancy glasses get in a tizzy over. It was no small feat to try to reinvent something as ubiquitous and fundamental as a spoon and fork, and we’re stoked that others have recognized our efforts.

What has been the best part of your startup experience?

Seeing the excitement around these very simple tools – from users, from the press, and from design award committees – has validated our conviction that design and innovation can be brought to small, everyday items. Our goal at humangear is to design products that make life on the go easier, more organized, and more fun – and it’s awesome to see the GoBites fulfilling that mission!

Kate Elliott says:

I really like this product I really like this product. The materials are high quality and seem like they will last through a lot. They’ve been particularly convenient for bringing my lunches to work because everything fits together and I notice when something is missing. The one thing I don’t love about them is that the texture of the utensils seems to cling to certain foods. That’s not enough of a drawback that I won’t continue to use and enjoy them, though.

BUY THESE HUMAN! i use this every day. we have this disappearing silverware issue at work. you leave it in your desk, it’ll be gone by the time you get back from a nice weekend at home. people have even tried leaving their forks and whatnot dirty just to deter the would be thieving trolls, to no avail.these are not only very good quality, but hide well in their case. i found a label machine and labeled mine as “Herpes Meds” (i don’t have herpes!)these haven’t been so much as moved yet…

Road eating problem SOLVED I spend a lot of time in my car, which means I am frequently trying to find meals on the go. There have been several times when I’ve picked up something from a grocery store in an effort to avoid burger chains, only to realize I have no way to eat it. Enter GoBites. These things are AMAZING. To start, I’m a sucker for things having their own cases. This makes it easier to locate them in my bag, and prevents the items themselves from becoming damaged by the other things in there. The case itself…
