Great knife, not so great sheath. The knife itself is very good quality. Sharp out of the box, holds an edge well, and the handle is quite comfortable. The knife is slightly handle heavy, but that’s not really a plus or a minus just whatever your personal preference is. The reason it doesn’t get five stars is because of the sheath. The sheath is decent quality and has good retention, but the straps that attach it to the belt are pretty crappy. The sheath is just velcro’d to your belt, and I had worries that it may fall if…
Money well spent !! I have finally found a reasonably priced tactical and camping knife. This knife is the explorer model from HX Outdoors.When opening the box I discovered a nice paracord bracelet with a ferrocerium rod and striker were included.The knife was not real sharp out of the box but after a few minutes on my sharpening stone it would shave arm hair.The overall length is 9.5″ with a 4.75″ blade. Interesting blade design, inadequate sheath retention Having purchased several dozen knives over the past few years Iâll go ahead and call myself a collector. I bought the âSentinelâ knife in the HX Outdoors series because the blade geometry intrigued me. Iâll start with the box it comes in which is a nice thick cardboard set-up with a magnetic open/shut. The writing on the box is mostly Chinese with a picture of a guy starting a fire with a bundle of dried grass. I found this interesting because HX Outdoors is obviously trying to promote this…
