The speaker is not loud enough the speaker is not loud enough when you are running the engine. This mic is handy in and around docks when you typically use the engine.

Excellent performance, but… This is my second replacement. The mike’s performance and convenience are excellent. The one major flaw is the reason for the two replacements: the insulation on the wiring where it connects to the Mike breaks away, meaning that it will require electrical tape after a few.years of use. Once that wears away, well – my reason for buying.another one. Since.I like the radio and do ‘t know of another co.patable replacement, I see this as 5-7year replacement item.

Poor Quality Product. This is the third one of these I have had to buy in 9 years. Generally poorly constructed.so fails after 3 or 4 years. I have it installed as a remote mike and speaker on my sailboat binnacle instrument pedestal. It is covered when the boat is not in use. The base radio is in the cabin. The first failed when the tiny bayonet connector flange broke off and it vibrated free when in use without me knowing it was not working. The second when the tiny speaker within failed – the mike still…
