Hollow cast iron broke with heavy use. It worked great until I applied some pressure to press a serrated wheel stud into a heavy steel bracket drilled for the stud. The adjustable head snapped off right above the round shaft (that’s when I discovered that it was hollow cast iron). Now I’m wondering about the warrantee on this thing……..
Good price for a nice vice Good price for a nice vice. Since it is not graded for heavy duty, I have not hit it with big hammer yet.
Jaw snapped under pressure. Worked very well until the adjustable jaw snapped off after owning for about 2 years. Once it broke I could see it was simply hallowed cast iron. Not sure about Irwin’s warranty. Seems fine for general purpose, medium to light duty use but definitely not meant to apply a lot of pressure on the jaws.
