Great backpack with 1 major flaw JanSport please tell me why you would change to those god awful “ergonomic” should straps. I had a backpack that was very similar in size and style as the Big Student but that was back in 1999 and it lasted up until about 2015. That one had the straight wide straps that were perfectly comfortable. These new curved straps are terrible and kill my shoulders with any sort of weight in the bag. Love these backpacks! Good for school and travel!! I have 3 busy boys. When we first bought these backpacks they were starting 4rd, 8th and 11th grades. Good roomy bag for GRAD student. So I have been using a messenger bag for the last year, but decided to switch back to a traditional backpack because my back has been killing me. As a grad school student I needed a bag with multiple compartments, and enough room for several heavy binders and books.
