While I liked the velvety pocket and design of the Dakine I purchased this backpack after returning a $50 one made by Dakine. While I liked the velvety pocket and design of the Dakine, it just didn’t hold much in the way of books and binders. This JanSport not only has a roomy main compartment with laptop sleeve, it is a great color! The shoulder straps aren’t super thick or large, but they work just fine and do provide cushion. There is no comparison when it comes to Jansport. Buy the best and buy here! Growing up I had one back pack and that was a Jansport. I have used many other choices in the past 25 years, but I decided to go back to the best. I have found Jansport to be the best choice. They can be pricey, but the lifetime warranty and its ability to stand up to the rigorous tasks of our day, is worth it. I love the leather bottom.
