A sturdy compass that will last I am a geometry teacher and bought this for classroom use. This compass is really sturdy and will endure most types of abuse students are capable of. The compass seems like it was designed for more of a woodworking setting with strength to endure in a shop setting. This compass is large and not well suited for drawing circles that have a radius much smaller than an inch. The pencil holder and position of the dial wheel requires short pencils. Great Quality Compass I purchased this compass a couple weeks ago to take to work. As a pipefitter, I often need to draw circles on pipe to cut holes, and most compasses in this price range fall short in that they are unstable and therefore do not scribe a neat circle, and they often slip to a different diameter.This compass is well-built and I can tell it will serve me well at work for a long, long time. If you need a good compass, I would most definitely suggest this one!
excellent practical tool I bought this compass because I wanted a compass that would hold a colored pencil. All the pencil compasses that I saw locally were toys meant for children to use in school, made out of tin and would not hold a setting for a second under heavy use.This one is very strong, not highly polished and obviously cheaply made.
