Combining the functional design of Emerson Knives with the precision engineering of Kershaw, the CQC-8K is an excellent collaboration of form and function. The tanto blade is made of 8Cr14MoV stainless steel, offering wear resistance, edge retention and versatile cutting capability. The knife’s black-oxide blade coat provides extra protection and creates a stealthy matte appearance, while the contoured G-10 handle scales provide strong gripping power. The CQC-8K’s blade is manually opened using the thumb disk or Emerson’s patented “wave shaped feature,” which enables immediate blade deployment out of the pocket. When the wave-shaped tab on the blade’s spine catches on the pocket seam, the blade opens, making the CQC-8K ready for use in an instant. This feature is a favorite among military, rescue and law enforcement knife users. A liner lock secures the blade locked-up during use, and the pocketclip is reversible, allowing ambidextrous carry for both left and right-handed users.

You get what you pay for Had knife for 10 days. The good: Looks good, feels sturdy, and wave mechanism is pretty cleverIn the first week of ownership I experienced several of the cons that people have mentioned. Listed below in the order that they appeared:1. Clip is very tight and difficult to clip on clothing (included jean pocket). It also pulls on the pocket and prevents the knife from opening using the wave about 1/2 the time in my experience. Much better luck with the wave mechanism when the clip was…

Great design great quality. Possibly the fastest drawing knife out there. Kershaw makes great knives, this design from Emerson is outstanding. A Emerson blade is in the 150 – 350 dollar price range. With this collaboration between the two companies, yes you aren’t getting the highest quality steel from Kershaw, but you are getting the same functional nature of the Emerson name. I honestly love this blade for quick and speedy draw. Prime use is of a defensive blade and not really anything else. So if you are looking for in my opinion one of the fastest opening blades…

Vastly better than my expectations… A no brainer purchase for this price. I will buy another for the wife. I really love this knife. I own a RAT Worx full sized MRX for my EDC and love it, no question…but this Kershaw is really making its way into my daily driver slot. I am one of the types who like the chisel grind, so that part is great. The Emerson Wave feature is just amazing. It’s my first blade with this feature and I am totally sold on it.The grip is solid with great texture. There is no side to side play with mine, maybe a slight flex but hardly noticeable. The blade came…
