Cool little stocking stuffer I bought this product for my husband for Christmas. He is a new hunter so I figured something like this may come in handy one day. It is small which is nice because he doesn’t want to carry a lot with him, it can easily fit in his pocket. It’s probably a better gadget for a Boy Scout it does have some handy tools in a compact package. The compass it true, the fire-starter would be good for a few uses. The signaling mirror works nicely and the magnifying lens will get a fire started using dryer lint. The whistle is not very good. Nice toy but not professional quality Nice little tool and am convinced some of the features can actually be used successfully in a survival situation if practiced and done with care. For example, the compass has to be completely level to work. If not it will jam and give wrong direction. I would suggest that this be used as a fun training tool to acquaint people with the skills needed to survive in the wilderness, e.g. navigation, fire starting, weather forecasting.
