Lighter Weight Wool Socks When I first opened the package, I was disappointed. I have very cold feet, and I was hoping for a thicker wool sock. These socks are not extremely thin, but they seemed short and I was sure they wouldn’t have the stretch I needed for my size 9.5 feet and larger calves. But they were extremely soft and felt cosy, so I decided to try a pair on. Well, I loved them! They magically stretched to fit and the spandex molds them to my feet, so no annoying slippage. Excellent. Due to Raynauds, I live in wool socks. These are wonderful midweight socks. They keep my feet an even temperature – which is near impossible. They are soft and I love the colors. I wear a size 6.5 US shoe and these fit comfortably. They can easily stretch to accommodate a larger foot. I used to buy smartwool brand but those shrunk a lot during the wash. Even if these shrink a bit they will still fit but no noticeable shrinking after 2 washes and drying on med heat just until dry.
Great moisture control, temp regulation, odor control, and dry fast. Would not hike without them. I have been told that wool is the best for taking care of your feet when active. So, I put them to the test. First, I spent a weekend hiking. 10 miles a day, and my feet love to sweat. At the end of the day, I can say my feet stayed comfortable and I never noticed the sweaty feet that I usually have.
