I bought 5 different fire starters and this is the best So this works great. Others I bought work on the same principles but the way the two components were attached were not as easy to strike. This one created sparks the easiest by far. I purchased friendly swede which had 2 of them but did not spark as well. I hate those metal snap crap to hold things together since they always seem to fall apart. The bullet fire starter also worked great but had to seperate and then reattach to not lose one component. This was easier since did not have to screw…

Great product! This is the real deal. I buy a lot of stuff that I can get by with from Harbor Freight but their fire starter is terrible. This one rocks! The larger Army size is certainly worth every penny. Practice with it before you go. You’ll be amazed.

This thing is awesome, solid This thing is awesome, solid, and delivers seriously hot sparks. I did not realize how under powered my little magnesium / ferro lighter was until I used this. It is a mass of sparks which provide real heat. I am not to fond of the striker portion, so I use the back of my knife, or leatherman saw which works great. I know it says 12,000 strikes, but I tend to push a little harder in trade for more sparks, so mine will not be reaching 12,000 (personal choice, not problem with the product).
