Michael Landry says:

Buy something else. Terrible little device. Takes forever to power on and lock on. The menu system is infuriatingly bad. And the CPU is too slow, so when you press any button, it takes up to 5 seconds before anything changes on the screen, so you’re always waiting for the device to catch up to your commands. This thing might be going back, I’m that unhappy with it. Buy something else.

Barry White says:

Disappointed in this GPS and then it died. Don’t waste your money on the eXplorist 310. I bought one eight months ago to use for kayaking. I wanted to know speed, distance, route, etc. It does give you those things, but it is not at all intuitive to operate and the display is very difficult to read in the sun. It is generally frustrating to use. Batteries last only about five hours, so on longer trips, you must carry spares. A few times, the display fogged up on the inside (it is supposed to be waterproof) and recently the display comes…

T. KLEMP says:

Big improvement over the Triton series, very nice GPS for geocaching I bought the Magellan Explorist 310 almost exclusively for geocaching.
