It can be used as a carry-on, but you cannot pack it like a 65 liter and expect it to shrink below that. If you pack it like a 35 liter then you should not have an issue with planes as some customer made a trip with a 35 recently and did not have any issues using as a carry on.

Held up to 80lbs of gear, impressive. Met my expectations in every way! got the 65L and attached 3 pouches to the sides and one in the front. mine came with a hydration bladder compartment, had many attachment points and molle compatible. loved the color selection and Velcro attachments. Used it for a 3 day camp and brought more supplies than I needed. I’m 6 ‘3 and it fit perfect on large setting. I would buy this again in a smaller size for carry on while traveling.
