Great sleeping bag for very cold conditions – not for summer use. I tend to sleep cold and generally prefer a warmer bag. I also have a TNF Inferno bag that feels a little warmer than this. This bag is a regular and at 5’11 there’s plenty of room but my feet are at the bottom- if you need to keep anything from freezing (water bottles etc) I would recommend a long.
As good as any bag, at any price. This bag easily competes with the other high end -40F bags that are all over $1000. As with any of those bags, if you sleep on frozen ground or snow in the winter, you’ll want to supplement this bag with a small air pad underneath you. Together you’ll be able to sleep in the coldest of all conditions.
I highly recommend a good inflatable sleeping pad to provide the insulation … I am an avid winter camper in Alaska. I camp in an Arctic Oven tent with wood stove. Once the wood burns out in stove it gets cold in there very quickly. I sleep on a cot. My butt got quite cold without an sleeping pad. If you are sleeping in -10 F or colder, I highly recommend a good inflatable sleeping pad to provide the insulation and warmth needed underneath the bag between you and the ground or even a cot.
