Yeah, Merrell is comfortable again! I can’t tell what Merrell changed with the fit, but these are certainly more comfortable than the last pair I owned 3 years ago. I had been a loyal Merrell user for many years before that, but switched to Solomon light hiking boots when Merrell made some “improvements” that made the boots uncomfortable for me. Same Out-of-the-box Comfort but too narrow/wide These shoes are pretty much the old MOABs. The only remarkable difference—and it’s a big one—is the wide width I used to wear is now too wide; the normal width are far too narrow. It fits everywhere except the toe box, which feels like I’m wearing a shoe two sizes too big or two sizes too small. Not sure why Merrell had to screw with perfection.

If you’ve ever had to slog miles wearing heavy mountaineering boots, you won’t believe how light these are.
