Maybe 5 stars down the line Shoe fit as my other Merrell’s do, I order a half size smaller than my regular size. Good size toe box that’s a little wider than I need. I wear a thicker sock or two thin ones to snug it up. Other than that, very comfortable shoe, good cushioning and support. My last pair of Merrell’s was the Capra Bolt which I liked but found that I wanted something a little stiffer, support wise after hiking through Europe both in the woods and on hard surfaces, including cobblestones. Arch support is odd…. Very nice hiking shoes with a few caveats: arch support is too far back for my foot. I have a very typical foot based on other shoes and fit — so this seems somewhat specific to this shoe. Also, while they are breathable, you may get some shtanki-ness (yes, foot odor) if you sweat a lot. Not an issue with any of my other shoes, but there was some pungency with these guys. They are going in the wash after a week and a half.
Recommended. They are a nice shoe, I use them for hiking. Merrell shoes are a little roomier in the toe box as opposed to my Salomon which fit pretty snug, but I also wear heavier wool hiking socks, so the combination works well for me. I order D width on all my shoes. Not too crazy about the vinyl accents on the shoe, seems somewhat thin, not the heavier suede type material on the Moab Ventilators I owned. The soles are a harder material and I expect them to last longer than the Ventilators which had a…
