Sized appropriately and does not run small (thank you for that Merrell). If you are hiking miles and miles rock piles you’ll need something a bit stiffer (IMHO) – but this shoe wasn’t designed for that. It is truly waterproof and breathable. Hikes in the rain and in the desert – feet were fine.

Update: Slippery when soles are wet. It’s nice that they have more arch support than most shoes of this type but you need to be careful if the soles get wet. They are VERY slippery if wet. I’ve worn mine too much to return them, but I’ve ordered other shoes with a different sole hoping they won’t be so slippery.
