Robert says:

Simple and solid I have several good FRS/GMRS handy talkies for comparison. I chose this model for my 6 year old grandson (and his parents) because it has relatively simple controls and menus compared to more advanced models. The size is good for anyone and works well for smaller hands. These are very solid, well built radios. Not a toy in any sense of the word. Sound is very clear. We have only done limited range testing but they gave solid communication up to a measured 0.3 mi in my suburban…

More a toy than a real communication devise and charging doesn’t work All three of the units within one week quit charging with the NiMH battery and charger. So now the only way they work is to insert 3 AA batteries. It defeated the purpose I purchased them for so that they could be charged and used between three homes in an isolated area when needing to communicate. The other feature that is annoying is that they will only stay on for 90 minutes before shutting off, so you can’t really use them for communicating between different groups over long periods of time…

Great tool We use these around the farm because we live on a hill it’s hard to get up and down the hill so we use it if the kids are in the house and we are at the barn or to tell the person at the top of the hill when to turn on the water or if we need help. Useful tool. We have 15acers works all around the farm with no problems.
