Good radios and nice features The radios are good. Range is as good as you should expect from GMRS, which means forget about 35 miles but more like a mile to maybe a few in average wooded, hilly terrain. The supplied chargers take a very long time to charge the batteries. If you need a quick charge, use your own higher-current charger or just put in alkaline AA batteries. You will probably get better performance from alkaline batteries, but the rechargeables are OK for grab-and-go use when you don’t require maximum…

Kinda nice feature blinking when dropped on the water $119 I expected more from them. Kinda nice feature blinking when dropped on the water. Not too bulky in your hand and the bright color. Bad luck for I have to returned 2 set of them. 1 set has a problem with the charging status. Its only allowed to charge up to whatever you have left in the battery. If you have 2 bars of battery left then you get 2 but never go up to 3. Unless remove the battery and reinstalled then you get 3 bars status but when go down 2 or 1 then thats what you get. The…

My girlfriend lives — as the crow flies — about a mile and a quarter from my house to hers and I want a way for us to be able to stay in touch when cell phones are out. We live in Fort Lauderdale and the terrain if flat and most of the homes are single story, so no tall buildings are blocking the signal. We are lucky to get 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile useable range from…
