Water resistant, not water proof. Breathable, yes. Not waterproof but are water resistant. The seams are not taped/sealed. So rain water seeped in onto base layers/underclothing while on our rainy trip to Alaska. I usually wear a size 8 pants, hips= 38″ waist=32″ The Medium sized were too small to be able to wear base layers under so I exchanged for a size large, which had room to spare. Good Lightweight Product I’m about 5″4 and weigh 120 lbs. First ordered the 28×30 but it was too loose. Returned that size and ordered the 26×30 and it fits like a dream. Snug but not too tight.
