Great for cutting a rubber gasket I used this to cut a 4–1/4 inch diameter (2-1/8 inch radius) gasket out of 1/16 inch rubber. It worked a lot better than I had anticipated, prompting me to write this review. I used push pins (thumb tacks) on the four corners of the rubber sheet to keep that steady while I was cutting. I made a hole in the center and through the wood I was working on using one of the push pins so that I could anchor as much as possible the spike end of the compass.

Good, not for hard use I was turned on to this cutter from a youtube video of a guy making soda can alcohol stoves, wow!! I got to get one of those I thought. So I finally found it- like most things here at Amazon. It’s easy to use, good design and light, almost all of its parts are plastic. Seems like it’ll hold up over time, but we shall see about that. It was not easy, and it is a lot of manual labor This item functions! What I mean by that is, I had to use it to cut out many fabric circles to create a polka dot pattern. So if you must know, I’ve cut about 400 circles using this compass. It was not easy, and it is a lot of manual labor, but for the price I paid for it, it cannot be beat.
