The RAT II is the PERFECT size for general chores and the RAT I serves … After ordering the RAT 1 I felt the knife was too large for every day cary. Both the RAT I and the RAT II are exceptional knives However; each have their purpose. The RAT II is the PERFECT size for general chores and the RAT I serves as a great tool around the ranch. FWIW… Well, with so many reviews what do I say? From my perspective this a really good (budget) knife. I own several pocket knives, some very expensive some very cheap. I’d say the RAT line is worth every dollar, when I compare them to other knives. Actually my favorite liner lock EDC knife is a RAT1. This RAT2 is like a mini-me version of it. Best budget folder under $30 … highly recommended … It’s annoying that the original, bigger RAT 1 is usually little cheaper than just as great but smaller RAT II. Among knives under $30, there are no knives that I know of that has a better fit and finish than Ontario RAT series knives and I’ve gone through a bunch of them. The design is very ergonomic, the fit and finish is superb. AUS 8 is excellent budget steel that holds its edge well and is easy to resharpen.
