Opinel knives are the traditional French picnic knives made in France since 1890. Rich in history and utility these knives are still a part of everyday culture in France. They are easy to use and they have a safe design. Each knife is made of four components, so the user need not worry about breaking parts – more common to overly complex mechanisms. Knife consists of carbon steel blade, hardwood handle, rivet and a stainless steel locking collar that prevents the knife from accidentally opening or closing. These knives are not only effective and practical, they are also beautiful. Opinel knives have been displayed in museums and, in 1985, they were ranked as one of the “100 most beautiful products in the world”, by the Victoria and albert museum in London. Opinel – a simple, beautiful and effective design that has survived and thrived for well over a century. Stamped with the famous Opinel crowned hand logo. 4 1/4 ” closed, 3 1/4″ inch blade.

A great quality knife for the price and providence. A great quality knife for the price and providence. The thin kerf of the blade is a little fragile for some situations
Everything I need in a pocket knife, and not one thing I don’t After reading a bit about Opinel knives over at Bespoke Post (not a plug) I knew I had to try one of these things out. I was practically born with a Swiss Army Knife in my hand, and have always enjoyed their flashy and (dare I say) sexy design. The truth, however, is that I’ve never particularly enjoyed USING the things, with their small, uncomfortable handles and myriad attachments that have no utility 95% of the time.
Perfect Office EDC I tend to research stuff a lot before I buy it, so a lot of my reviews end up with 4 or 5 stars simply because I don’t end up purchasing lower quality stuff in the first place. That being said, the 5 stars I offer this product would be 10 or more stars if it were possible. I cannot stress you you enough how great this knife is. The carbon steel blade holds an edge very well, and that edge is SHARP, mine is always shaving sharp and it’s easy to keep that way. I actually just strop this on…
