You get what you pay for. I bought this knife mainly for the history, but will make good use out of it as a food processing knife while camping. The blade I received had some very small chips, just big enough to see on the edge at the bottom close to the handle. Also the first 1/8 inch of the edge from the tip didn’t seem to be sharp. Quality control seems to be lacking which is understandable at this price point. More importantly the steel seems to be pretty good, and after 10 minutes on the whetstone the edge is…

i recommend forcing one to avoid any serious pitting and keeping … bit larger than expected but not by much. would defiantly say the number 8 would do for most jobs or people. but the 12 excels at hacking through a finger thick sapling or limb in a pinch. or multiple if you find yourself working near some brush and don’t warrant the time walking back to your work truck for the machete hatchet bush ax clippers etc. just remember the blade is high carbon so if you maintain and take care of it it will last. but it will still get a patina, i recommend forcing…

Superb etc pocket knife I’ve carried pocket knives for 50 years. This is the best non multitool/swiss I’ve ever owned. If you’ve already decided you can get by with a single blade pocket knife I don’t think you can beat it.
