I love this knife for my blood and guts woods “beater” So yes it’s made in China (strike one). It has AUS8 steel which is often considered comparable to 440B (meaning nothing special). Is that strike two? The opening and closing action is not as smooth as my must costlier Benchmade and the thumb studs are uncomfortable if you put this in your jeans pocket near your legs (they poke). Perhaps the best knife I ever had. I’ve had many working knives over my 47 years. I’ve used this knife for about 3 years. I’m so happy that I bought a 3rd one as a backup.Very good steel for the blade. Harder to sharpen than most blades thus it keeps a good edge longer. It also has not rusted from salt water, like many of my other stainless steel blades. The rubber handle is great to hold on to, even when covered in animal fat.
