Flimsy plastic design, poorly designed bevel feature–not up to part for price point Really lousy product for the $45 or so I paid for it. Petzl has really dropped in its quality. The device is made from cheap plastic (compare to, say, the plastic used by Black Diamond on similarly priced models. The beveling feature to tilt the device downward, for example, is manged by a flimsy plastic tab that runs over ridges–something you’d expect from a $12 model you’d grab at the check-out line at Lowes. but the red light option is amazing and so useful for night hiking Only reason I gave this 4 stars is because it did not come with the core battery pack, and in order to charge the core battery pack, you have to take it off the headlamp to plug it in. The battery cover is thin plastic and does not close very well, however I did drop in the rain, and it was strong enough to sustain a fall and still keep the rain out.
