and is sturdy. I attached this above the rear right wheel … Worked well, and is sturdy.I attached this above the rear right wheel on my 04 wrangler. It required some modification to the back bracket plate. I needed to file it down to fit, but it still worked fine. The spring is sturdy, and feels very strong. Attached a 9 foot whip antenna on it, and it works great.
Good ball mount for the price Good ball mount for the price, it also comes with a backing plate, as they are famous for cracking steel car bodies, so you can imagine what it would do to these soda can car bodies of today. Gonna spray some lube on the braided wire inside that spring as soon as i can gt it mounted. They seem to be the first thing to go.
Heavy Duty! Having extensive communications experience, I can see that this is very well built. The only better ball mount I’ve experienced cost 3x more and is custom made, with about 3 weeks lead time. This is very well designed, and mounts VERY solid. It has a 102″ whip on it and has whacked quite a few trees. The spring holds up and mount is still rock solid.
